Thanks to volunteer work teams, progress has been made on the Day Memorial Library renovation. The new computer lab is ready for new computers! We are looking for computers with dual core processors, 4 gigs of ram, minimum of 250 gig hard drive (500 would be better), CD/DVD reader and burner, network capability,17-19 inch flat screen, keyboard, and mouse.
Twenty-four computers are needed for the computer lab for student use and one better machine for teacher and server use. The other classroom in the library has been renovated and is ready for furnishings. The drop ceiling and fans are installed, and the wood floor has been sanded and stained. Both of these classrooms look really great!
The upstairs dorm parent apartment is being rewired and is ready for plumbing hookup. Thanks to a youth work team from Walnut Creek United Methodist Church in Warsaw, Indiana, the girls’ dorm rooms have been gutted and are ready for wiring and sheetrock. More work teams are scheduled to come this summer to finish up this project.
The dorm rooms need to be finished before school starts since we have exceeded our occupancy limit in the dining hall dorm.

Beginning this summer, Mount Carmel School will begin the hiring process for a number of faculty and staff positions. It seems appropriate to mention here that Mount Carmel is a work of faith, and has been since its founding in 1925. Our mission is to train young people academically and spiritually, and in order to make this opportunity available to students of all ages, ethnicities, and economic statuses, sacrifice on the part of our faculty, staff, and administration is required. Employment at Mount Carmel School includes housing, utilities, cafeteria meals, and various foods for personal use, as well as access to some other free items such as donated clothes, books, household items, children’s toys, and more. Beyond that, employees are active in raising their own financial support in different ways. Working at Mount Carmel School can be very rewarding, as students are seen growing in their walk with Christ and making decisions to follow Him. Relationships built with the students and with co-workers provide a network of friendships and support which begins to resemble, and feel like, a large family. Carmel High School. The activities took place on Thursday, May 6th and included running, throwing, jumping, and relay events. With the student body cheering on, students competed, not only against one another, but also against school records, with one new record being set and one nearly missed. Julie Kuk set a new record in the girls’ shotput with a throw of 29’8”, and in the boys’ 4x400m relay, the team of Sangyoon Lee, Gabriel Kang, Eung Chokdeepusit, and Seung-Jae Lee completed the race in a time of 4:13.96, less than two-tenths of a second from the school record.
